WINNER of the 2020 XYZZY Awards (Best Game)The elders have entrusted you, an elite vampire courier, to deliver their secrets. Can you outrun the hunters, the other drivers, and the rising sun?
"Vampire: The Masquerade — Night Road" is a 650,000-word interactive horror novel by Kyle Marquis, based on "Vampire: The Masquerade" and set in the World of Darkness shared story universe. Your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
It’s a new Dark Age for the dead. When the Second Inquisition's vampire hunters hacked phone lines and computer networks to expose and destroy vampires all over the world, the elders turned to undead couriers like you. For ten years, you’ve raced across the desert between cities, delivering vital information and supplies. But when an old friend reappears with a plan to disrupt the blood trade across the American Southwest, everything you’ve built starts crashing down.
Outrun the Competition. Drive, hide, or fight back! Unleash the powers of your blood in ancient Disciplines to change form, vanish from sight, or dominate the minds of your enemies. Employ blood magic, inhuman strength, and the creatures of the night to escape destruction—or just run your enemies off the road and keep driving.
Deliver or Die. All secrets have an expiration date—and so do you. Race across the desert to deliver secrets, promises, and threats. Do whatever it takes to drop off your parcel. But when the job is done, will you stick around to exploit the situation?
Run Down Your Prey. Only blood can sate the Hunger. Charm, seduce, or seize what you need, but don’t let anyone know what you are. If you break the Masquerade, your fellow vampires will destroy you for your indiscretions, assuming the Second Inquisition doesn't find you first.
• Play as male, female, or nonbinary; gay, straight, or bi.
• Hunt the alleys and back roads of the American Southwest to stave off hunger and resist the frenzied call of the Beast.
• the Camarilla—the immortal society of the vampire elite—or break its hold on the border states.
• Confront the horrors of your immortal existence in illegal hospitals, disease-ridden prison camps, and forgotten research facilities littered with failed experiments.
• Modify your car for speed, durability, or smuggling, but —wherever you're going, you have to get there by dawn!
• Unlock the ability to play as Tremere or Caitiff with the Usurpers and Outcasts DLC.
Death is a hard road. You drive it every night.

Choices matter ,fairly long story compared to others , quite difficult as even if you actively avoid masquerade breaches any failed skill check can trigger one overall quite fun if they release more of these sorts rather than out for blood type games I'm all for it

EDIT: // It seems those needing a Save button don't know(?) there aren't any Saves before you roll the dice in TTRPGs, & you hafta accept the outcome, which includes failing a roll even with high stats.🤷🏼♀️// This is my favourite of the V:tM games. Let me play a Gangrel, and I'm a fan FOREVER! The plot was intense, the main characters were intriguing, and the action was seriously awesome! And the TTRPG-ness of "rolling" stats: THANK YOU. I really hope this story's characters get a sequel!

So it's an interesting idea, and definitely a good read but the mechanics are kinda screwed up? For instance, there was a moment in game that required int+academic, & I failed the check even though both of those stats for me was nearly capped, so that was kind of whack. Plus it's $10+ and honestly it's the most expensive COG I've ever come across. Edit: some of the wording is confusing like when you make a delivery to the plane, one of the options had "capped by drive" like what does that mean?

I changed my mind. Don't judge me. After I got past the weird issues with choices skipping sometimes, this game was incredible. Once I became invested more in the story...god. I was hooked. I finished it twenty minutes or so ago. I actually agonised over a choice I had to make for ten minutes. I was weighing the pros and cons. I will definitely play this again. There are so many things that could have gone differently. Night road is by far the best VTM game to come out of Choice of Games.

As a VtM fan, this was worth the price. Immersive writing and despite being stat-heavy, the system is well implemented. The characters are enjoyable & romance was a nice addition to the story, all too rare in World of Darkness. The moral questions vs. survival was tense at times, carrying a sense of impact. Story mode is very helpful if the stat rolls feel too difficult! It's expensive, but it took 6-8 hours to finish just one run. If already a fan of VtM, it more than earns its price tag.

The writing is honestly amazing! This is also what I've been looking for in a choose your own adventure story for ages. Even if you don't know anything about VTM I would highly recommend it. At first the price did make me hesitate to buy it, but I've spent money on worse literature. My only regret it that there wasn't one more choice at the end that I wish could've made.

Good writing overall but accessing said writing is a pain. Lack of options on the WIDE scale, (only 3 factions to side with), the skill checks are inconsistent as hell. One check, adding up to 4 is enough. Next page, you have a combination that adds up to 7 and you fail the check. No indication of how likely you are to succeed beyond restart scumming. Frustratingly unsignaled temporary points of no teturn.

An exceptionally well-written CYOA set in the VtM universe. A wealth of options to choose from in every situation, and lots of character customization available in of abilities, clans etc. Just picked up the DLC that released today, can't wait to play it again. Two more VtM games coming from Choice of Games this year, will definitely be picking them up! Good job guys, and of course, the man behind it, Kyle!
